The World is Still Going to End...Just Got the Date Wrong!

You would think that a few moments after midnight on the 22nd, the doom-sayers would have seen the error of their ways and recanted.  You know, one hopes for some sort of common sense.

Would you believe that in an article that was pointed out to me on the Komando site that many believe the exact opposite!  Honest!   First, it should be made clear that the Myan calendar no where fore tells of a world wide dooms day.   Through a misunderstanding on how the Myans recorded time and used the "calendar" which lead to the belief that the calendar had no further dates on it past Dec. 21 2012.    In a Science on NBC News article:  Researchers point out that "Matching the dates of the Mayan calendar to our modern calendar is not an exact science".

Why is that?  because Myans based their calendar on a system like a "long march" type of system or long epochs, in many ways similar to the old Chinese system.  Trying to match this system to a 12 month 365 day calendar is very imprecise at best.

Not to be deterred however, doomsdayers  are sure the end is nye, just the date is wrong, so their belief is stronger than ever.

And then there are those that are traumatized.    The reasons for this are varied and complex.  Often  varying  from despondency to paranoia.

From my end, the one thing I don't see much of is acceptance of the fact that the apocalypse just isn't a happening thing.   But then that is asking for rationality....

Mr Bullington, I would ok a post, but there were nothing there to publish.

We have to have moderated comments due in part too objectionable, confrontational and often completely off subject. But without any writing at all, I haven't anything to approve.

Try again please!

That's not the first time a comment was lost here. GF put up one one day, and it totally vanished from existence.
When I told her to do it again the next day, it was there with no problem.
And by the way, I am a traumatized one. I didn't get to take over like I planned.
But even if they were correct about the date, it doesn't mean it would happen that day, only begin on that day.
Personally, I think it began a long time ago. I think it began, the day one of us came down out of a tree and stood upright. That was the beginning of the apocalypse I believe.
But, like the Doctor said, everything ends, or nothing new begins. So bring on my bloody doomsday already. How long does this dippy universe think I can wait for it. I'm getting bored, and that means experiments again.
And thanks to certain people here, I have basically been forbidden to do any experiment unless it's underground, or 5 miles away.
Isn't it nice when you are just so completely trusted by everyone?

However you did have a request for an application for a minion. Great things start from humble beginnings. I would say don't despair, but I fear you would
view that as a curse ...

And if I am missing for a few days here, I just got Avengers 4 disc combo pac, Cabin in the woods, and RE6. I think I may be busy for awhile. (probably a few hours spent watching Hulk and Loki, lol.
I'll let you know how the other discs are and what they are when I get done with it all. (Actually the GF got them from her parents today. Nice to have a GF that actually is on the same wavelength, at last).

Yeah, I saw that application. I need to get back there and answer that, thanks. I forgot.
You realize of course, that if any government official reads this site, I am guaranteed on the no fly list.

You mean, you are NOT already! lmao a new world order, anarchy and confusion were just the very FIRST things on your list. If you have a land line and you are paranoid, hook a volt meter across the red and green and then make a call and watch for variations on the voltage. Feeling even more paranoid?

Yeah. Phanriver is what she uses here. I keep telling her to sign in, but her schedule usually has her running amok all the time.

I honestly didn't think anything about it at the time. Just figured it was one of those things that happens from time to time.
Maybe I was wrong, and should have mentioned it before. Just honestly didn't think much about it.
Ooops, sorry.

no prob. GF is always welcome as is a varied opinion. No matter what the moniker.
