I haven't forgotten, have you?

On february 1st, 2003, the space shuttle Columbia was
nearing the end of 28th mission, it disintegrated on
re-entry.
This disintegration killed all on board.
I believe that today should be a national holiday,
but I am noticing that no one is saying anything about it.
So, in order for me not to go off on a wild tangent,
and totally ballistic on this, I shall make it short,
and to the point.
There needs to be a statue of our men and women
killed while aiding the entire planet. And that is
exactly what they were doing, aiding us all, and
they will always be hero's.
So lets all just take a moment shall we, and remember
those that gave their lives for us all, and for
the pursuit of knowledge here on Earth, and beyond.
The crew of the Columbia's final mission from left to right.

Mission Specialist 1          David M. Brown
Commander                     Rick Husband
Mission Specialist 4          Laurel Clark
Mission Specialist 2          Kalpana Chawla
Payload Commander        Michael P. Anderson
Pilot                                 William C. McCool
Payload specialist 1          IIan Ramon

I even contacted our one local news station and slightly complained a little that this hadn't been on the news. I was nice about it. For now.
Lets never forget folks, and make damn sure that no one else does either.
I realize there have been dedications to them in many ways, but this is the 10 year anniversary of their death, and the Columbia's destruction. I believe something should be said, somewhere.
So I'll bloody well do it myself if the rest of the world won't.
To this crew, and all other crews of present and future missions, wherever they may take us.
THANK YOU, AND WE ARE BEHIND YOU, FOREVER.

Bravo! I had with held saying anything today, knowing full well that tomorrow I had an open mic with a radio station attached, this was..and most likely was going to be my opening. More than likely its going to be an opening statement that will now draw inspiration from this article. I too just listened to the ambient noise and I heard not a mutter, not a mention. Glad I am not alone as I feel the need to scream into the wasteland once again.

The news I noticed said something locally. One of them did anyway. But not on the TV. They put it on facebook.
Give you one guess who raised holy smeg on that one.
