Wow, last episode. I am going to leave the "how
disapointing" or "how disappointed I am with SyFy" and just for a few minutes ponder the loss of another great show. Eureka was always a quaint proposition in the first place. They took their science from the Star Trek school of physics most of the time and often the show was blatant morality plays. But if you were a fan, you were a FAN. The people were easy enough to identify, if you didn't get it right off, our everyman Carter was there to "this is what I do...." But they managed to go out in style, yes a tear jerker at times, I know, but the closed loop at the end?!!! I am SOOOOO loving that.
So not so much as losing a close friend, the feeling for Eureka at the risk of being anthropomorphic, was having that close friend move away.
The sting will fade as it has before with better, far better shows, but if you have enjoyed the years, then you know the characters you have come to enjoy aren't there. TV Science Fiction is plainer for it.
Good bye Eureka
Oh and thanks to Kallamis for the graphic find! Sweet!

Yeah, "SyFy"... Blaaa, they've done this time and time again. I think the worst of it was with Farscape, talk about injustice! But, at least with Eureka, they had a good run and there wasn't a chance for any kinda "missing piece" since, in general, it's plot was finalized.
At any rate, I wonder what they'll come up with next... I hope Being Human has a long run and I'm interested in seeing the revamped "looking" Alphas.
Yeah it's going to be missed for sure. But they keep wrestling. At least they ended it in a good way. No more idiocy from the brass basically.
Farscape was indeep an idiotic move....but then so was Battlestar Galactica, and others just chopped at the knees...
I bet we all have a top five idotic cuts even sanctuary is
gone. I think we should do a top five idiotic cuts... Everyone just tell me their worst and I will compile the results
The idiocy is that it is let go at all! The writing was good enough to cover the loss up...
Not counting Eureka, and in no particular order.
1. Sanctuary
2. The Anime Block they had late night. No warning, just gone. Maybe not original shows in themselves, but still.
3. Trippin the Rift
4. Dresden Files
5. Flash Gordon
Have to include Sliders off list, even though the series was headed for death during season 3. But they really needed to end it differently than that.
Well, I would put BSG in this list, but I don't really think it was "cut", rather it simply ran its course... That being said...
1. Farscape
2. Star Gate Universe
3. The Invisible Man
4. Mystery Science Theater
5. 1st Wave... Although, I didn't get into this show until they started repeats.
I'm sure there are more, but that's all that comes to mind for now.
1 Farscape was about the worst
2 BSG
3 Stargate SG1
4 Sanctuary
5 And of course the anime block which is being done so much better on the cartoon Network and even Disney for christ sake!
awwwwwyeah man the Invisible man! yep did like that...that is a toss for the fifth place but I have to give a shout out to anime
damn what was the show that had people they could program to be whomever and whatever they wanted....that was a shame when that one bit the dust
It's real pain making a list with just 5 isn't it. I was having the same trouble a lot of you seem to be having. Which one of their mutinous screw ups to list.
Kall, what I originally wanted to do was just what do you think was the worst ONE but everyone did 5....so I say...well put them ALL in order and I will see what the worst was...either way...lol
1. Farscape
2. Invisible Man
3. Flash Gordon
4. SGU
5. First Wave
You know, maybe a list of the 5 shows butchered most by sci-fi before their demise would be an easier list to make.
Hell then you last list come close to that...I dont remember Farscape ended ok, Sorry I hated Flash Gordon, SGU yeah, that could have been, but the last two episodes were great! First wave?
Hey come on! what was the name of that show, where they sat in the chair to be reprogrammed, secret facility and all that jazz!
Any idea about what time period that show was shown.
Dollhouse and NOT on SciFi/SyFy. ;)
Dollhouse, and that was NOT on SciFi/SyFy. ;)
Kall
it was a couple of seasons ago. Super secret, the agents when not working were kept in a child like state. Then they were able to be quickly programmed. The programmer was for all the world like a demented dentist's chair.
RIGHT! Hey John, that was going to be my next comment, I was going to bet that it was on Fox... See! someone else saves my bacon! lol
