Portal 2 Lab Rat inspired animation
Not being into Portal 2, I may be way off base here, but this seems to be about the flat out saddest video for a game I have ever seen. I was going through some articles on topless robot and came across this downer.
Here is what the text said:
Here is what the text said:
- It's based on the Portal 2 comic Lab Rat, about the lone surviving Aperture Science scientist whose responsible for writing all the %$#@ on the walls that Chell sees during the first game, as well as making sure GlaDOS didn't kill her between games.

A capella of Battlestar Galactica’s "All Along the Watchtower"
Now before you run screaming into the night, let me explain. First, for those of you that may not have followed SyFy's more dramatic retelling of Glen Larson's Battlestar Galactica, the closing music of the last episode of season 3 (I think it was three...anyone?) was a heavy bass backbeat with middle eastern overtone reworked version of All Along the Watchtower. It was hypnotic in the way the music rolled in and out (I really wish I had a copy to play, I even asked the artist if I could have a copy to play on the program, yeah, it was that good). So meandering through IO9 I came upon an even stranger version - An a capella version done by the Sacramento State Jazz Singers of the Bear McCreary's Battlestar version (confused yet? lol) and these people do a great job. And if you have never heard the BSG version, this group nails it. Take a listen in this video.

A Most Unusual Rocket Launch
From the IO9 article:
- This music video by the Portland Cello Project showed last weekend at the Seattle Science Fiction Short Film Festival, and it's a weird, moving story of a crustacean who just wants to escape the bounds of Earth.

NASA The Frontier is Everywhere
Hey people, check out this youtube video I first spotted on boing boing. It's a compilation of clips showing Humans at their best and worst and through it all binding it all together a brilliant sound track by Michael Marantz and a voice over of Carl Sagan bringing a little hope that it will all work out.
I can guarantee that you will be moved by this short 3 minute video.
On SpaceRef.com Damewse (the YouTube persona of Mr. Marantz) writes

- "I got frustrated with NASA and made this video. NASA is the most fascinating, adventurous, epic institution ever devised by human beings, and their media sucks.....
- This piece contains readings from Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot". I have edited his words to tell this short narrative. The Time lapse images were taken in Mexico and Utah. The piano is self-composed. I hope you enjoy this piece, it has given me hope once again."

Science Fictionish video for You Say Party's Lonely Lunch
Here is the official music video for the band You Say Party's Lonely Lunch. The video was done by Sean Wainsteim and is set sometime in the near future, but the environment is pure early 21st century India which with it's warren of streets, press of humanity adds a very sciencefictiony feel. The security personnel are the weirdest thing going. Worth watching the video for that action!

Dollhouse Remains Music Video
Here is an interesting video. It stars Fran Kanz (a.k.a. Topher) and Dollhouse scriptwriter Maurissa Tancharoen, who also played the Active Kilo. The premise is a man orders quite literally a mail order bride or maybe companion. This short music video is for the song "Remains" from the episode "Epitaph One." of Dollhouse - though in truth it is not about "actives" at all. Think instead of "The Lonely" episode 7 of the Twilight Zone - that is the vibe I get to some extent.

Do WHAT? Ray Bradbury?
Like I have said before, there aren't many videos or stories that I have reservations on posting. Well I just came across a music video on YouTube by Rachel Bloom. It has reasonable production value and the music is well performed and recorded. Plus it has a strong science fiction element....so to speak. Mz Bloom's song professes a rather strong attraction to one of the giants of science fiction, Ray Bradbury. In the video you will find the musical version of "lets get to know each other better"
It's quite funny, but I really can not in good conscience post anything more than the youtube link here.
The beat is infectious and the production funny. Enjoy.

Broken Bells music video
Kinda interesting is this vid I found on IO9 called Broken bells. Here is some info on it according to the IO9 article.
Starring Mad Men's Christina Hendricks (aka Firefly's Mrs. Reynolds!) and now it's here. Watch the android Christina dismantle her own body aboard a spaceship bound for stardom.
Stardom? ehhhhh but the music and the video is diverting....somewhat.
