Dollhouse Remains Music Video

Here is an interesting video. It stars Fran Kanz (a.k.a. Topher) and Dollhouse scriptwriter Maurissa Tancharoen, who also played the Active Kilo. The premise is a man orders quite literally a mail order bride or maybe companion. This short music video is for the song "Remains" from the episode "Epitaph One." of Dollhouse - though in truth it is not about "actives" at all. Think instead of "The Lonely" episode 7 of the Twilight Zone - that is the vibe I get to some extent.

Whedon's Dollhouse canceled

Mark Wilson of the SciFi Fantasy Blog writes:

• Fox network has decided the Joss Whedon basement-rated drama Dollhouse has had all the breaks it's going to get.
  
• Fox has committed to air all 13 episodes starting up again December 4. Four episodes had already aired in September and October, so nine episodes remain to be broadcast. To burn them off as quickly as possible, Fox will be airing two episodes a night.
  

Whedon Want Glau to Play in Dollhouse!

Summer Glau fan should take this news extremely well. Now that Summer is no longer kicking terminator ass, Dollhouse's Josh Whedon would like to get her on board with his pet project of late, Dollhouse.

But before you get all hot and sweaty thinking of all the Doll parts she would be good in, Whedon says he is not considering her for another part that would entail her being mind wiped and reprogrammed.....sounds familiar huh?

Not much news - but there is this article in IO9 by C. Anders that speculates about what parts would be interesting. Glau has said she would like to play a normal person but if you have been watching Dollhouse, you know there are damn few "normal" people.

Fox renews Fringe for season 2

Fringe fans! Time to get happy! Michael Hinman at Airlock Alpha reports that Fox has indeed renewed Fringe for a second season. Fringe has continued to pull good numbers since Fox placed it as lead-in to its' Tuesday night lineup.

Word still hasn't officially come down yet for Fox's other genre related series, Sarah Connors Chronicles and Dollhouse.

Dollhouse's demise greatly exaggerated

Hey I am just as guilty as the next guy. The apparent trimming of the last Dollhouse episode led me straight down the garden path. I certainlyly was, in my mind, a clear signal that not all was happy in the "house".

But from the Airlock Alpha article:

• Tim Minear, a consulting producer on the Fox series, said that in all 14 episodes have been shot for "Dollhouse," with the Fox network committed to airing 13 of them.
• 
  That doesn't mean the show's order has been cut, or that cancellation is on the horizon.

It seems the last episode was intended for the DVD release.

The article states:

• sources at the network to Airlock Alpha suggest the show could still be in line for a second season pickup, and a move to a new night.

Keep your fingers crossed kiddies....

Fox cutting Dollhouse season short?

I just picked this up on The Live Feed ! It seems that Fox has trimmed the final episode of Dollhouse from the schedule which was to contain 13 episodes. The show will end with episode 12 who's title is: Omega. The closer will air on May 8 and it would seem that the only way one will get to see episode 13, titled Epitaph One, will be on the DVD release. One would suspect that the network not airing the last episode would spell cancellation but it would seem that even that has not been discussed yet.

Dollhouse in fact scored higher than it's lineup partner The Sarah Connors Chronicles. If anything this starts to look pretty grim for another season of T/TSCC.

Fox may renew Dollhouse

From SF Fy Portal Headlines and Airlock Alpha comes news that Fox is looking to shake up it's Friday schedule. It looks as though one show will be canceled and Dollhouse will be given another season in hopes that the show will find an audience.

Things may not be all that rosy for Terminator: The Sarah Connors Chronicles. The series has struggled badly through it's second season and is due to end it 22 episode run April 10th. The producers of the series, Warner Brothers Television, made some major concessions to Fox in an attempt to bolster support for the program. This, according to Airlock Alpha, may be a way to help it promote its upcoming "Terminator: Salvation,"(movie) which premieres May 21. Which leads one to wonder if there will be this much support AFTER Salvation's release.

"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. "Dollhouse" airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.

Trailer for Joss Whedon's Dollhouse!

Wow, I found a really good trailer for Joss Whedon's new show Dollhouse due to hit the Fox network in January 09.

Here's a revised version of the trailer which explains the show's concept much more clearly and features a lot more ass-whuppin'. Plus, parachuting and assassining. The show's central conceit — that these "Actives" are blank slates who can be programmed to have any skillset or emotion
