Could not resist.... Here someone took the time to photoshop in the Muppet spacers....you know the one on the left is saying Rover...the rest can only be imagined...
Oh its a hoot for sure. I use Photoshop but you know, GIMP is very very powerful in it's own right. Mostly it is becoming familiar with layers, Brightness and contrast. Also being able to re-size an element is very important.
Gimp? I'm still cussing at Google sketch up. Designing the entire inside of my place wasn't exactly the easiest on that, but try to create a 3D star ship with all the interior layouts. After about 8 hours, I gave that up as a lost cause. I really do the best on paper with ship designs. No program ever wants to do what I want it to do. Just like those bloody talking phones. It'll yap it's circuits at you, but ask it to do the dishes and see what happens.
GIMP is an open source editing package as Audacity is an open source audio recording suite - and Firefox is an open source browser when there used to be browsers for sale. Oh yeah there were commercial ones but they really could not stand against Microsoft's monopoly. The rest are alternatives to the commercial versions. I use almost open-source almost exclusively.
