Here I came across a very funny series of clips from the old Batman tv show. They were called the window gag. Somehow I don't seem to recall these little asides inside a show, maybe early on I didn't realize the camp and only later, but then it was a double whammy for me, first just enjoying a quirky show and then being able to watch it again for the campy fun...win win.

Holy crap...lol!! I knew that these existed but I don't remember any of them. Of course, I was only 10 years old when the show ended. These clips were too funny!! I have a copy of the original movie from the 60's and I watch it every once in a while to laugh and roll my eyes at just how campy it really was. I'm getting into buying 60's TV series on DVD but I don't think I'll pick this one up unless I can find it dirt cheap!!
I'm hoping the new film will be great as well as the reboot of Superman next year. I was always more partial to DC comics when I was young and would love to see more good movies from their line-up. People always say the Marvel comics adapt better to the big screen because most of their characters lives are filed with drama and angst, whereas in the DC universe they are all 'boy scouts' except, of course, Batman.
I guess we'll see.

I was 14 when the show stopped, and I just could not wrap my head around it! I look back now and it was campy genius and so many of them were! A bit off subject but talking about sublime camp was Green Acres. I would NOT watch it initially but recently I happened across an episode and was amazed! They wouldn't DARE be that far off the hook today!
This is one f the reasons I love so much of the old stuff, even the campy. They pretty much did as please, without being immediately condemned and hated for something off the hook.
Today we get blinding violence, niceties, plots that twist and turn so much no one cares or it ends up stupid.
I like campy old stuff. They gave us all a laugh, an adventure, and we didn't have to see their lack of underwear exposed all over the TV, net, and papers.
Maybe this is why I liked Kevin Sorbo's Hercules.
In the 60s, tv was still pretty much in its teenage years but still harkened to it's earlier years. There were no rules so you made them up as you went along. Early 60s to maybe even the early 70s there was an almost psychedelic mind set, where everything had several ways of taking what was said and done. Look at Rowan & Martin's Laugh in. Even the title today has people scratching their heads. Writers of these type of programs, reveled in screwing with your head!
