It's A Brave New World - WTF?!!!

In the extra creepy department....Architecture student André Ford in an effort to make the meat production industry more efficient has proposed a new way to raise and house chickens so they do not suffer pain and stress of current high output farms. Many people can relate a story of a chicken who lived quite well with most of its brain missing. What Ford proposes is an industrial version of the same thing. Lobotomizing the chicken and removing all of its upper brain function, feeling no stress or pain or anything else for that matter. The birds would be hung from racks and their feet would be removed (they couldn't walk anyway) One tube would feed and another would remove waste. With this method, it would be possible to quadruple the number of chickens per any given area. So far it is just a project...but the idea has been sown.....

2 Questions, and then I am keeping my mouth shut, or I'd be semi-rightfully banned for life when my tirade was over.
1) What ever happened to ethics in science?
2) Have they tried Schrodinger's cat yet, considering this would be the people that would?
Okay, one more fekking (not the f word, so thank you Father Ted), thing here. These people need to be beaten, and beyond. I'll now keep the rest of my vulgar worded tirade to myself.

Oh I don't know Kallamis I would be willing to bet that your rant on this subject would echo most if not all of the readers of this blog and listeners to the show. We are oh so lucky that it is still an "artistic" concept. I found the idea so shocking and disgusting that I could almost see it as part of a "brave new worldish" alternative universe.

I say question away! Put those that would even consider this viable in the hot seat to defend a production method that is evil in every way imaginable.

The worst case senario would be payback as in some super intelliegent race of ET would come to our tiny blue planet and "Harvest" lowly Homo Sapiens in the very same way. Just saying....

The ultimate payback would be for a superintelligent ET to arrive on tiny Blue Planet and Harvest us in the very same way..Just saying

Hey radwmn08!

that brings to mind Damon Knight's "To Serve Man" now that was a frightening story.

yep, radwmn08 That was why I referenced Knight's work among others because that was the first thing that came to mind. Some said Matrix, but that is not quite a horrific as aliens asking "what's for supper?"
