BMU #391 now Online

So, here we are at  BMU episode 391.  After a short opening monologue I play Winter Day by John Anealio which I feel is one of his best tracks.

Last week I did not have enough time to play the last few minutes of Dean Giles' Post Human Condition so, I right that wrong this week and take a few moments to make sure that every one get a chance to hear the who work because it really is so good.

Over in the beam Me Up blog, The Chang'e 3's rover Jade Rabbit has sepe

Next I review David Scholes's collection of 21 stories - Trathh and other Stories which is every bit as excellent as you can imagine!

Is it possible that Halley's Comet could have caused death and destruction?

Neowise is the former NASA spacecraft Wise that has been repurposed. I talk about its new mission.

Have you heard of the Technological Singularity?  In short it is when tech gets so advanced it rivals or surpasses human inteligence...

My final story of the day is Matt London's The Show Must...

Finally I fill out the hour with a Christman favorite played by Kenny G.

That covers this week, I hope you enjoy it.  See you next week.

Get ready to Boldly Go - Star Trek online has started

Tim Sayell points out an article in Plugged In reporting what for many will be a red letter day or as Plugged In said "Red Shirt" because Cryptic Studios has taken the MMORPG - Star Trek out of beta that it has been running in since December of 09 and into a brave new world. Yes, now you can be the captain of a Federation warship or Klingon warlord or anything that strikes your fantasy in Star Trek's online world.

Star Trek online is for all intents a combat simulation, which may disappoint many fans hoping for a more complete Star Trek universe. Plus it is set so far into the future of the Star Trek we all cut out teeth on that none of the characters we know in various Star Trek outing are present (code for alive) in this time line. So if you were hoping to hobnob with Kirk or Picard you will be very disappointed.

Also another bone of contention is the price for the privilege. First is a hefty initial outlay of $50 for the main game and then $14.99 a month to blow up the baddies. Which may prove to be to rich for a narrow game-play platform. Time will tell.

Man-Machine Book 2 is online

Royce Lee sends in a note that he is still enjoying the blog and passes on the great news that Man-Machine book two is now online !

I have read through the second installment. Again the graphics are minimalistic almost jarring but if anything, they add to the surreal aspect of the storyline, which I think you will agree is very engaging.
