Amazing in Motion Video by Lexus Featuring the Music of Kristina Train

Have you seen this amazing commercial by Lexus called Amazing In Motion "Steps" which features 11 foot tall metal puppets and  the song Wandering sung by Kristina Train which is a cover of the Aretha Franklin’s soul classic, ‘I’m Wandering’... .

The commercial is unusual in many ways because first it does not depict a real product, instead centers around an 11 foot tall lattice work puppet, brought to live by puppeteers dress in black holding control rods attached to key points along the puppet's frame and moving it in a very convincing lifelike manner.  Throughout the commercial, the puppet seems to be hunting throughout the city for something not brought to life until the very end.  

The short is a wonderful mix of scenery  acting and music.

Chris Hadfield Sings Major Tom in a most Unusual Way!

You might think, just by listening, that you were experiencing David Bowie, singing an updated version of his timeless classic, Major Tom. If you thought that, you would be very very wrong. For here is astronaut Chris Hadfield singing his version of this topical tune while SERVING ABOARD the ISS! Plus to do it one better, Hadfield does it as a video that proves to be an amazing counterpoint to the song! Yes pay close attention to Hadfield as he sing, plays an instrument and demonstrates micro-gravity! Plus the whole thing was recorded aboard the "tin can"

NASA Johnson Style

If you are at all suspicious at this point well you have a right to be. One of my fav contributors sent in this parody of Gangnam Style titled aptly enough: NASA Johnson Style! Now before you get your knickers in a knot, watch this video. I am sure that someone is going to say, Doesn't NASA have enough to do already! To be honest, I think this is more NASA enthusiasts instead of the front line people "wasting" time. Come ON! This is in fact, clever and fun!

This is What One Violin, Two Voices and 120 Tracks Will Get You

Remember the Zelda Girl back a few months ago. Just her violin and her voice, plus added goofiness of running around the scenery in costume. Her name was Lindsey Sterling. Well Lindsey is at it again. She has enticed Peter Hollens to join her, and add to the running around in costume, in the snow. The end results, mixing down 120 tracks containing just their two voices and her violin, is Skyrim. Now if you follow the multi-track scene even a little, you may recognize Hollens who is very talented in this venue. So what they wind up with is a hugely complex multi voice and instrument music video.

Ph.Diva Sings the Biotech Research Blues

I really do get into IO9. They find the neatest stuff. Here we have an animated short featuring Ph.Diva singing with the Mystery Band a tune called The Biotech Research Blues. The animated short features one April Bright who has just been invited to present her research at her first conference. But something hinky is going on with her polymerase chain reaction, and she needs to figure it out before conference time.

Laura Shighara sings Everything's Alright

Rob Bricken over at the Topless Robot blog has been waxing eloquent about the indie game "To The Moon" and one of the most adorable thing he mentions is one of the songs from the game, Everhthing's Alright was sung by Laura Shighara. This peeked my interest and lucky me I see that there is a Youtube video. He is right, the song is cute and certainly worthy of a play.

I found this piece of weirdness on Boing Boing. I would have totally spaced it if it were not for the comments that came with the video. Seems this music video had been making the rounds on YouTube for a few months without much fan fare until as the Boing Boing corespondant wrote:
