- The Chinese General Bureau of Radio, Film and Television has prohibited new science fiction TV dramas, following a vogue for shows where modern Chinese people travel to ancient China. They've also prohibited production of "the Four Great Classical Novels", on the grounds that the widespread adaptations of them take too many liberties with the original texts.

Who's to say that all the UFO's reported throughout history aren't time travelers from the future aren't researchers and historians out to set the records straight for future (from their time) education.
That isn't really the point Bill.
It amounts to the Chinese government declaring that no alternative history stories can be written because they are not historically accurate. A piece of circular logic if I have ever seen one.

So, I guess this means we won't be seeing "Doctor Who" filming on location in China any time soon. Of course, "time soon" is relative...( and, ironically, there was an ad for the Doctor on the bottom of the page right befoe I posted this comment
