Here is a quick synopsis of this Star Trek episode that can best be described as a labor of love. When we were first introduced to the Phoenix milieu in 2010 it was clear that there was something very special happening. Star Trek Phoenix is a fan produced new series that began on May 2, 2010. When I first heard fan made all I could think of was cheesy sets and corny dialog. Well let me dissuade you because the fans at Temporal Studios have produced a product that may not rival the big studios, but there is little doubt that they could rub shoulders in just about any crowd.

Isn't anyone else tired of seeing "Cload & Dagger" in the story title? What does it say about the writer that he makes this mistake, and then doesn't even fix if after the fact...
Very nice! I'm eager to continue the story.
The link doesn't work. I hope it's a temporary problem.
I've been following Star Trek Phase II (startreknewvoyages.com), another fan effort. Their later efforts have been very good and a few ST-OS actors have been guests. However, the acting isn't as good as in Phoenix.
Damn Jon,
Sorry about that. What I get for writing half asleep. What is even worse is that I was looking right at it during Saturday's program and NEVER noticed.
I am glad someone brings this stuff to my attention. But you know, this is one of the weird things about blogger, the spell check works only on the body of the message not the title... Still, no excuse for being in a coma when I write an article....
It did when i first did it now it is broke.
Thanks for the heads up Blizno, I will put in a new link
Blizno, I went straight to the source instead of through the web page link that came with the article. I guess they are blocking anything but direct connections? As long as its http://www.stphoenix.com/ it will work, so that is what I put in.
Mr. BMU,
I was a little hard on you about your typo... My bad... To bad I didn't take a moment to say anything about the content of your article, which I enjoyed by the way!

Jon my friend
(Paul here btw) I count on you guys a lot to bring some of these idiotic errors to my attention! I love ferreting out fun stuff, but often I don't pay a great deal of attention especially when I am tired, to detail. You were concerned that I hadn't picked up on it. You were good enough to bring it to my attention! Plus thanks for the good words! If the blog is interesting then the BMU radio program is as well! It all works out well. Thanks

I've got to say that I'm pretty impressed. Glad to see a fan film that actually uses sets instead of posing people in front of a green screen as many did before. The only other fan film that I though was well done was the old Starship Exeter series. They spared no money on the sets! They were the most authentic I have ever seen in a fan film and the dialog reminded you of ST:TOS. I hope ST:Phoenix can find a way to keep going. Lord knows most of the fan sites I have bookmarked over the years are nothing more than dead links now!!

Yeah, what ever happened to Exeter? Is this Phoenix a combining of efforts? Not that there is anything that screams co-operation, just the level of detail.
I think Phoenix has much better acting even though Exeter was based on an unused Star Trek script and they had actual Star Trek cast members on set.
I always thought that Exeter just ran out of money and fell by the wayside. Then there was Star Trek: Of Gods and Men that came out a few years back from Renegade Studios. There was someone with the last name of Cawley involved in some way and I think he may have had something to do with Exeter (not sure). ST:OGAM had a bunch of the actors from TOS, DS9, VGR and ENT. It wasn't bad for a 'tribute flick'. The effects were pretty cool but the dialog and parts of the plot were pretty cliched (is that a word?) I stumbled across an HD copy of the film a couple of months ago and it actually looks up pretty good on a 30" widescreen (not sure if would hold up on a bigger TV). The Wiki entry for it is at

yeah, I kinda wondered what happened to it. I saw the first episode and then gone. But the overall acting, effects and set were no where near the level of C&D
