The Force was with this Waitress

A hilarious story or cruel joke - In 2002 Jodee Berry, a Hooters waitress in Panama City FL, thought that she had won a Toyota in a beer sales contest, not a toy Yoda. She ended up suing Hooters, who settled by giving her an actual Toyota.

According to the manager of the Hooters, the contest was an April Fool’s Day joke.

Lesson that should have been learned - be careful
of whom you play a joke on.  They may not find
it funny in the least................

Death Star Supporters Head to Kickstarter

It seems that the US government has not found the building of a Star Wars Death Star practical.  However the supporters are far from deterred!  Supporters have turned to the crowd funding project Kickstarter to raise the 31 million it would take to design the thing.

So far their efforts have raised 31 thousand dollars!  But as NBCNEWS.COM points out in their article:

  • The funding deadline? April Fool's Day.
Of course 31 million only gets you plans on "how to build a Death Star" because the cost of a functional "Star" would set you back a whopping $850 quadrillion!

Of course the odd man out in this stunt is Kickstarter itself.  I suspect they are not finding the "april fool" at all funny......

Sydney Bristow Beaming Up?

Read it, believe it, but it don't mean ya gota go see it! I love ST, I do, however casting and script ideas like this will assure that I won't be going to any new star trek movies.

J.J. Abrams has reportedly cast his Alias star Jennifer Garner as the love interest for Mr. Spock in the 11th Trek flick. Garner's real-life hubby, Ben Affleck, was at one time rumored to be a candidate to play Mr. Spock, with his BFF Matt Damon still, reportedly, the producers' first choice to fill the Enterprise-leading shoes of Capt. Kirk. And Moviehole.net reports that Gary Sinise and Adrien Brody are also still in negotiations to play McCoy and Spock, respectively, with production on the Christmas 2008 adventure......

I don't need to add more...you get the idea... If interested, click the article title and go where I didn't want to go anyway...ll&p
