Google's View of Future Data/comm

In this killer demo of the future of what can only be called total immersion data/communications, Google is experimenting with what they call Project Glass and they released the video featured below. Here is what they say about Project Glass

  • We believe technology should work for you — to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don't.
  • A team within our Google[x] group started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.

Built into a pair of glasses, this might work. However, what happens when the next logical (no longer a sci-fi concept), comes along to plug us in directly to the net. I love my tech, but i never trust a government. This is a sure fire way to even increase their control into all of our lives. Wireless can never be truly secure, and even stores where you use their value cards hand your purchase history to the DEA, Justice department, etc. The easier the tec h is for us to use at all times, then the easier it is to be monitored by that same tech. And considering how our government acts, and now want to stop us from saying anything online that might be offensive to another, basically them, i trust them even less. And the worst thing is, all these so called great tech companies all work for the governments in one way or another. Ours or someone else. The day of the great Big Brother is here, and no one is seeing it happen. They have been so terrified by government propaganda, they will soon gladly go to a permanent online implant to be tracked and monitored by, because everyone will be so complacent that they will believe it is in their best interest. Like I said, I love technology, just can't trust those behind the creators of the tech at present.

Oh hell yes Kallamis there is always that aspect, but I really think the glasses ARE coming, it really is the next logical step! I watched an anime series called Dennō Coil - a circle of children. I deals heavily with this type of tech and the consequences (some possible and some, not so much) It really is a great study of the adoption and rejection that this series takes. I honestly suggest anyone interested check the anime series out.
