New Marvel Show

Hey Marvel fans! Have you heard the latest? Well it seems that the Inhumans movie that Marvel had in the works will not happen.  Instead Marvel with the aid of ABC and IMAX will move the charactors to a TV show on ABC.

The show will premiere on ABC in the fall of 2017 and will be a weekly series with the first season running eight episodes. 

Fans of the Agents of Shield may recognize some of the charactors that will populate "cast". They consist of Black Bolt, Medusa  and over time Crystal, Gorgon,  and others if we are lucky.

NASA Rolls out new Mission Patch

wow, if there was any lingering suspicion that the folks at nasa and The Center for the Advancement of Science in Space  were not full on nerds. One only has to check the next mission patches

CASIS announced  that Groot and Rocket the Raccoon will be featured on a mission patch that will represent all payloads that will head to the national laboratory on the International Space Station.

ABC Renews Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

That's what the buzz says from Sci-Fi Storm.  that ABC has committed to a second season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", despite being up against stiff competition.  

One other surprise is in addition to the  S.H.I.E.L.D. order, ABC is also ordering a series called "Agent Carter"  -  Peggy Carter, was Steve Rogers love interest in Captain America: The First Avenger.  After Captain America "disappeared" Carter goes to work for the Strategic Science Reserve doing administrative while also secretly going on secret missions for Howard Stark.

ABC Orders Nine More S.H.I.E.L.D.s

Sci. Fi. Storm is reporting that:

• ABC has given a back nine order for Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., bringing the series up to a full season of 22 episodes. The show has been the best drama so far this year in the 18-49 demographic, and it was the highest rated debut in nearly four years.

Review: Iron Man 3

Starring Robert Downey Jr. Gwyneth Paltrow Don Cheadle Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley

In Iron Man 3 we are introduced to a much more complex Stark.  Unlike in two where he was basically a self destructing drunk, in 3 we have a person who suffers from panic attacks, insomnia and good ole angst on numerous points.

In this installment we are introduced to one of Iron Man's regular nemesis,  The Mandrin.   Though I have to say the false leads and miss directions really detracted from the character played brilliantly by Ben Kingsley.  We see a hand full of rings and a hooded cape, but if you were not somewhat familiar with the Iron Man universe then these minor flashes are so much wasted screen time.

If you are not a comic fan than some of the references in the film are going to fall flat.  Case in point is Extremis.  Up to this point, I had never heard of the “drug”, so you find yourself a bit distracted as you try and pick up  the where and when of Extremis.  When you first see some of the 'patients' who had taken extremis, you have to skip back to the beginning of the film to get  an inkling of what it is capable of and why the vice-president would do the things he finally does.

The plot is pretty straight forward, but it is the little asides that will have you jumping for the player remote. In my mind, IM3 is more a fan movie that either of the first two.  That doesn't mean that it is not watchable, far from it.  There is plenty of iron man on iron man action and things get blown up at an astonishing pace.

There are a couple of real good surprises in this outing and I don't plan on being a spoiler.

You can rent the movie if you like, I get the impression that the BR disk has a lot more entertainment on it.   The DVD on the otherhand has pretty much the movie not much else.  Spring for the Blu-Ray if at all possible. 

I watched the dvd, so I can give the movie a 9 for action lovers and comic fans.  This one is for you.
As far as extras....sneak peeks and one short on making of of the more spectacular stunts that is it.  So for the dvd version at least 14 or a 7 which is rediculous because the move is an 8 at least, that's why I say at least RENT the blu-ray, it would be so much more worth it. 

Trailer for Marvel's Astonishing X-Men motion comic

Hey, are you an X-Men fan? The comic? How about this "motion comic"? I was reading this article in Topless Robot. Here is an excerpt:

I know, the style is familiar, but the subject and the overall feel work for me. I will most likely take a look, being an X-men fan.

Marvel bringing Moon Knight to TV

Marvel is partnering with No Equal Entertainment, a Canadian production company, a television show based on the comics character Moon Knight. For those of you unfamiliar with the Moon Knight, his real name is Marc Spector. Spector is chosen by an ancient Egyptian god named Khonshu to be its vessel in the modern world. Spector adopts a number of identities, from a playboy millionaire to a New York cabbie, in order to infiltrate the underworld and dons the Moon Knight garb when kicking butt is needed. There's no timeline for when the series will hit TV but this is fertile ground for a dark series dealing with a number of issues.
