That says something about it's present orbit. I've seen pictures (both enhanced and not) from the Hubble that present it as more of a planet that just a hunk of rock orbiting out there in the belt. They needed the clarifications because we were about to have not 10 planets but something in the 20s or 30s, which I know is ridiculous but if we were to be honest in our classification then at the very least Vesta and Ceres become planets as well and then we have to start looking at other equally large objects.
